Connect Foxwell to Claude

Search the Foxwell Founders knowledge base — 500+ paid media pros' Slack discussions, podcast transcripts, docs, and more — right from your AI chat. Setup takes about two minutes and you sign in with the account you already have.

Set up in Claude (recommended)

  1. Open claude.ai (or the Claude desktop app) → SettingsConnectorsAdd custom connector.
  2. Paste this URL and name it Foxwell:
    https://foxwell-bot.onrender.com/mcp
  3. A Foxwell sign-in page opens. Community members: click Sign in with Slack and use your Foxwell Founders Slack account. Paid MCP subscribers: click the email option and use the email from your subscription.
  4. Click Approve. You're connected.

Try it: ask Claude “Use Foxwell to search for advice on creative testing.”

Already set up with an access token? Your token still works — nothing is required. But this sign-in method is simpler and doesn't need a config file, so we recommend it for new setups.

Other apps (Cursor and other MCP-compatible tools)

Any app that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the same URL. When the sign-in window opens, approve it right away — some apps time out if sign-in takes more than a minute.

Troubleshooting

A sign-in window appeared out of nowhere

That's us — your app discovered the new sign-in method. It's safe to approve, and your existing setup keeps working either way.

It says it can't connect, or keeps asking me to sign in
  1. Quit and reopen the app you're connecting from.
  2. When the sign-in window appears, approve it right away.
  3. If it still loops: close every leftover “Connect to Foxwell” browser tab first, then try once more — always use the newest window.

Using Claude? The most reliable fix is switching to the built-in connector using the steps at the top of this page (and removing any old Foxwell entry from your config file).

It says my access isn't active

Community members: make sure you're signing in with the Slack account you use in the Foxwell Founders workspace. Paid subscribers: check your subscription is active in the customer portal.

A yellow “This app has not been reviewed or approved by Slack” banner appeared

That's expected. Foxwell is a private community app, so it isn't listed in Slack's public app directory — the banner shows for every app that isn't. It's safe to continue.

I signed in to the wrong workspace

The Slack sign-in picker defaults to whatever workspace you're already signed into in your browser. Choose Foxwell Founders Membership. If you got a “not a member” message, start the connect again and pick the right workspace this time.

It says “This connection request has expired”

The connect flow times out after about 15 minutes. Nothing is broken — just start the connect again from Claude and finish the sign-in promptly.

It's clunky on my phone

Set it up once on desktop. Once the connector is added to your Claude account it works everywhere that account is signed in, including mobile — you don't need to repeat setup on your phone.

I already have an access token (the old setup)

It keeps working — nothing to delete, no rush. The connector is just the easier path going forward: no config file and it never expires. Switch whenever it's convenient.

Still stuck

DM @Foxwell Bot the words “help connecting” in Slack and it'll walk you through the fix.
